Following the success of our first Backyard Ultra at Turvey House in October 2025, we’re excited to launch a brand-new event in a brand-new location…

The Delapré Abbey Backyard Ultra – Northampton!
Join us in the stunning grounds of Delapré Abbey for our next instalment of this unique endurance challenge.

What is a Backyard Ultra?
A Backyard Ultra follows a simple, addictive format:

• Run a 4.167-mile (6.7 km) loop every hour, on the hour.
• Finish the loop within the hour to stay in the race.
• Start again at the top of the next hour… and repeat.
• The event continues until there is only one runner left who can complete a solo lap.
• All others receive a DNF, which is all part of the Backyard spirit!

Whether you’re aiming for a new distance PB, tackling your first Backyard, or pushing for Last One Standing, this format is all about pacing, resilience, community—and seeing just how far you can go.

Why Delapré Abbey?
With its beautiful parkland, woodland paths, and historic surroundings, Delapré Abbey is the perfect setting for a Backyard Ultra—easy logistics, supportive atmosphere, and scenery that keeps you moving hour after hour.
