51 hallucinogenic miles from Nether Stowey, in north-western Somerset to Lynmouth on the North Devon coast.

Following the waymarked Coleridge Way long-distance footpath across the Quantock Hills and Exmoor, made famous by the romantic poet, philosopher and theologian Samuel Coleridge. It was his meanderings across this incredibly stunning landscape, quite often under the influence of Opium which lead to the outpouring of some of his most influential work and lead to the emergence of the Romantic Poet movement. Coleridge lived for many years in Nether Stowey, Somerset.

The fully waymarked route traverses the Quantock Hills and contours the upland expanses of Exmoor before a final flurry down deep along the Lyn Valley Gorge to the coastal town of Lynmouth.

The route crosses a varied array of terrain, from woodland glades and riverside trails, to windswept moorland fringes. The Coleridge Way signage is excellent and easily navigable, following its own very distinguishable quill pen (feather) waymarkers.

There will be 4 Aid Stations en route, at regularly spaced intervals, offering food and refreshment and staffed by the friendly, experienced Puretrail Crew.

The Race will finish on the promenade at Lynmouth where you will receive the coveted Opium Trail medal.
