The Crossing

An aspirational baby ultra. It’s a tip-toe into ultra-distance running, but it’s far from easy. We’ve increased the distance to 36.5 miles for 2019, with a new event centre and finish at the Ivybridge Rugby Club.

A fully marked and marshalled course, with 2 fully stocked Aid Stations, and 3 Water/ light bite stops, with light snacks and refreshments.

Experience the wilderness of the High Moor, the beauty of the periphery. Visiting the 4 moorland villages of Belstone (start), Postbridge, Princetown, and Ivybridge (finish) and includes 903m of ascent in 36.5 miles.

Start time 9am.

Time limit 10.5 hours.

Bespoke medal to all finishers.

Bespoke event t-shirt and other pureTrail merchandise can be purchased at any time via the sientries system.

Coach transfer from Ivybridge to the start £10.

The Great Escape
A Long half-marathon starting from Princetown in the heart of the Moor, the route takes in the last 15.5 miles of THE CROSSING, with big, wide open spaces. Many have tried escaping the Prison at Princetown and, because of its remoteness, have been recaptured.

A fully marked and marshalled course. The race will include 2 water stops with light bites only, due to the remoteness of the course and terrain.

The route crosses the head of the Erme Valley and traverses the Erme canyons, with some interesting moorland vistas along the Abbots Way before the long descent into Ivybridge. A real taste of Dartmoor trail running.

Start time 11:30am.

Time limit 4.5 hours.

Bespoke medal to all finishers.

Bespoke event t-shirts and other pureTrail merchandise can be purchased at any time via the sientries system.

Coach transfer from Ivybridge to the start £8.
