The Elbrus (5642 m) is a legendary mount in the Caucasus mountain chain, located in southern Russia between the Black and the Caspian Sea.

With its 5642 meters (18 510 ft.) above the sea level, the western summit of Elbrus is the highest peak of geographical Europe. The Elbrus is a mount of volcanic nature what explains its distinct “round” look.

For the past 5 years Elbrus area has become a place for an annual trailrunning event, Adidas Elbrus World Race, created by like-minded people with a passion for mountains and sports and held in the first week of August.

Adidas Elbrus World Race is the most extreme mountain race, which inspired the athletes from around the world to experience the power of spirit and endurance in four categories.

Conquering the distance, the participants ran along the valleys and passes around the Elbrus, crossed the mountain streams and, most importantly, entered into a fight with themselves.
