Epica dell’Acqua is a non-competitive, multi-stage endurance running (and walking) event covering approximately 100 kilometres over 3 stages, held in northern Italy, in the Po Delta, just a short distance south of Venice.
The event takes place in one of Italy’s most distinctive landscapes: a vast wetland of lagoons, canals, rivers, embankments, pine forests and coastal areas, within the Po Delta UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Each stage is mostly flat and accessible, allowing participants to run or walk at their own pace, without rankings, time pressure or compulsory cut-offs.
Epica dell’Acqua is designed as a “boutique event”, with a limited number of participants, emphasizing experience, community and connection with the territory rather than competition. Runners and walkers share the journey over three days, with daily starts in the morning and distances ranging roughly between 20 and 40 km per stage.
The event offers different participation formats, from a full experience (including accommodation, meals and logistics) to more flexible options for those who prefer to manage part of the stay independently, as well as the possibility to take part in a single stage.
Thanks to its proximity to Venice, Epica dell’Acqua is easily accessible for international participants and represents a unique opportunity to combine an endurance adventure with the discovery of a lesser-known, authentic and environmentally rich part of Italy.
