Welcome to the Surf Coast Century.

This is ultra trail running at its best: surf coast location, diverse and challenging course, stunning scenery, expert event organisers and awesome atmosphere.

Imagine running at the foot of some of Australia’s tallest coastal cliffs, while the low tide of the Southern Ocean laps the sand at your feet. Ahead lays a magical 100km and 50km trail run journey along Victoria’s wild surf coast and wildflower hinterland in the Great Ocean Road region.

This is a unique run with a promise that no two steps will be the same… and we welcome you to be part of it.

DISTANCE: 100km and 50km ultra trail runs
LOCATION: Start/Finish in Anglesea, Victoria, on the Great Ocean Road
GET INVOLVED: Do the 100km solo or in a Relay Team of up to 4 people; or take on the 50km solo!

This is one of Australia’s must-do trail running events and in 2016 the Surf Coast Century incorporated the Australian 100km Trail Running Championships.

The course is simply spectacular. There’s cliff top trails providing endless ocean views, there’s single track that weaves through the hinterland bush, there’s wild flowers, waterfalls, lighthouses, beaches and a whole range of other jaw dropping landscapes that you’ll race through as part of this incredible event.

This event is designed to suit all levels of ultra-runners, from the first-timers through to the elite. The event support is second-to-none, logistics are easy and the event atmosphere is fantastic and very welcoming.

“What an unbelievably amazing day. I loved the run – the beach at sunrise and the magnificent cliffs, the wild flowers in the forest, the gorgeous views, but most of all the friendly and supportive people on the run and on the sides encouraging us.” – Vicky Williamson (100km Solo – Auckland, NZ)
