The Berkeley Marathons
This is a new race but from the idea planted by Lazarus Lake at a chance meeting at the 2019 UK National Running show.

The race will have many of the same challenges as the Barkley Marathons but also some brand-new ones. The main challenge won’t be the terrain, it will be the time as this race has a 24hr cut off!!!

We want to challenge and inspire every type of runner and not just the elite as we believe that everyone has it in them to achieve great things and that needs to be celebrated. This race is about pushing the boundaries of what you the individual believe is possible, so you might not believe you will finish but! how far can you go?

The race format
130miles (ish)

5 laps to complete

3 lap fun run

Self-navigated route

Challenging checkpoints (yes, the book will be there but can you get to it?)

24 hours cut off

You must have at least 1 crew member with a vehicle and driving licence in case you need retrieving from the course. Camping for you and 1 crew member is included in the entry fee. No on course assistance from crew members is allowed. Additional crew members are permitted to provide assisance to runners in camp; additional crew members will be required to pay camping fees of £5 per night.

Please follow us on social media for further updates. The website will be live in September 2021 for entries.
