The Ultimate Way to Experience the Falklands
An ultramarathon in a remote and mystical corner of the South Atlantic, surrounded by stunning landscapes and friendly wildlife in a country defined by its dramatic history.
Following the routes taken by British forces in 1982 to liberate the Islands the course winds its way from Goose Green to Stanley via San Carlos, Mount Kent, Two Sisters, Wireless Ridge and Tumbledown.
This is your chance to participate in the inaugural Falklands Ultra taking place in 2023
The event is a complete package including flights from Santiago departing Saturday 8th April and returning (to Santiago) Saturday 15th April 2023. The race is a single stage ultra and walking pace is supported for the 100km option (very generous cut-off times). The 100 mile (161km) course is more challenging in terms of climb, terrain, distance and cut-off times and more suitable for those with more experience of ultra marathons.
It isn’t all hard work though… also during the week in the Islands there are opportunities for a host of optional activities included: an acclimatisation race, rock climbing, kayaking (with penguins?), fishing, guided battlefield tours, whale watching, guided runs with locals each morning around the Stanley battlefields and exploring pristine beaches.
If you are also a parkrun fan, this is your chance to complete the world’s most southerly parkrun at Cape Pembroke Lighthouse.
