Upton Ultra – Sat 10th July 2021
Malvern Hills – Worcestershire

Upton Ultra is a new ultra running event that is arriving in the Malvern Hill’s this summer and will be part of a weekend of events including Mad Malvern Hare and Upton Triathlon.

The event will start and finish at Fish Meadow Farm, just over the bridge from the historic riverside town of Upton-On-Severn, Worcestershire, WR8 0PB.

The ultra distance is around 50k with the route travelling north out of Fish Meadow along the River Severn until it cuts south west to the Victorian Spa Town of Great Malvern, it then ascends onto the scenic Malvern Hills and along the ridge-line, giving spectacular views of the surrounding area and reaching the highest point of 425m at the Worcestershire Beacon.

Participants will then descend onto Castle Morton and head east back onto the River Severn, then north along the river, completing the loop back to Fish Meadow with a total distance of around 50k and 1000m ascent.

The route is a mixture of established national trails, bridal ways, foot paths, river banks and connecting tarmac roads. Each stage offers a diverse range of environments, from open hills, grassy meadows, sprawling commons, wooded paths and expanses of flood plain.

Each leg will be clearly marked, our event marshals will be on the route at key locations and there will be also be food and re-hydration points.

The race is open to people of all levels from first-timers to pros, and there will be generous cut-off times to make sure everyone who takes part has a chance to complete their chosen route.
