A new sporting challenge for the UK has just been launched. The Surrey Hills Challenge is a series of running and walking charity events in the beautiful landscape of the Surrey hills. The date is Sunday 25th September 2016.
The Surrey Hills Challenge is organised by the Community Foundation for Surrey and the Surrey Hills Trust Fund, Rutland Management and aat events.
Four events will take place on the same day for people of all ages and fitness. The four different categories organised along the Greensand Way are ‘The Ultra’, a 60km run, ‘The Half’, 21km walk (or run), ‘The Ten’, and ‘The Five’, a family challenge.
The challenges start in Haslemere, pass the Devil’s Punchbowl at Hindhead, traverse the main Surrey hills of Hascombe, Pitch, Holmbury and Leith Hill, before descending north to Dorking. Much of the route is rolling hills, woodland trails, fields and footpaths providing participants with glorious views.
