Every couple of months we run a prize draw and any runner who posts a kit or race review is entered into the draw. The winner gets to win a great piece of kit.

Find out more about Jules Bardwell – the winner of our latest prize who won a pair of Hoka ONE ONE Torrent running shoes. You can read more about these shoes in our  kit review.

Q. Who is Jules Bardwell?

A. I’m a pilot for an airline, rapidly approaching 50 years of age and have an adoring beautiful wife, who is extremely supportive.

Q. What made you get into the dark and dangerous world of ultra running?

A. I moved to Ultra from Triathlon several years ago as I enjoy the mental challenge! Ultra is more mental than physical for me.

The Ultra experience is a wealth of rollercoaster emotions (fear, despair, sadness, joy, fun, exhilaration, madness, weakness, strength, in-trepidation, loneliness and more) and ends with a massive sense of achievement…. Yessss!

Q. How often to do you run per week?

A. I’m on a Run Streak of 400+ days and aim to run a minimum of 5k on a Rest Day, averaging 80-100km per week.

In 2019 my target is 4038km (twice the year!), in 2018 I achieved 4217km…

Q. Favourite place to run?

A. Due to my job I get to run all over the world. You can’t beat a lap or two of Central Park on a sunny weekend day…..

Q. Mountain, Trail, Desert, Snow, Jungle or Road?

A. Trail or Road in Snow!

Q. Any race plans yet for 2019?

A. Definitely the Brighton Marathon for endurance training! Fox Ultra, Centurion South Downs 100 plus one or two Race to the…. I’d love to do the London to Brighton Challenge too!

So if you want to win a great piece of running kit, post a kit or race review on our site and take part in our current prize draw.
