The date has been set for the 2016 Trail running World Championships on October 29th in Portugal.

More specifically, this event, now running in its 6th year, will take place in the Peneda-Geres National Park over a course of 85km and 4500m D+. The Peneda-Geres National Park is located in the most northerly region of Portugal, on the border with Spain.

The technical director for the event will be Carlos Sa and it will be organized under the auspices of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU).

Both entities are calling for an international debate of all involved parties on how all future World Championships should be organized. For more information go to the ITRA website.
