A great overnight race – Ultra 12

Last updated: 20-Aug-18

Ultra 12 & Ultra 50

The 2014 Ultra 12 & Ultra 50 took place over the 9th and 10th of August at the beautifully scenic Beale Park in Berkshire.

A brand new concept

The race was a brand new concept; combining three races in one. Runners could opt to run Ultra12 as a solo, pair or as part of a larger team; this meant running as many 5-mile loops as they could over a 12-hour period. Alternatively solo runners could opt to run either 50K or 50 miles over the same course.

Everyone started at 7pm; those running 50K started 1.72KM’s behind the main start gantry. Everyone ran into the night & in many cases into the early hours of Sunday morning; until they completed their chosen distance.

Around 200 runners took on this challenge and despite numerous adverse weather warnings the event was a great success and enjoyed by all.

2014 winners

The winners were:

50K Female Winner – Lydia Browning
50 K Male Winner – Robin Killingworth
50 Miles Female Winner – Alison Gordon
50 Miles Male Winner – Martin Inge
Ultra12 winning Female – Lenka Istanova
Ultra12 Winning Male – Steven Gregory

Congratulations to all!
