I first tested the Artilect Sprint Tee during the second heatwave of the year in the UK, and from the moment I pulled it on, I was impressed. As someone who hovers between a UK size 10–12, I often find that women’s performance t-shirts run small or awkwardly fitted. This was different: the Sprint Tee felt refreshingly true to size, comfortably loose without being baggy, and instantly cool against the skin.

This was my first time wearing anything from Artilect, and the quality stood out right away. The Sprint Tee is made from Nuyarn Speed-Lite 115gsm fabric, a next-generation blend of Merino wool and nylon designed specifically for active use. The result? A lightweight, airy tee that performs far beyond the standard Merino layers I’ve worn in the past.
The first thing I noticed was how breathable it felt. The fabric has a slightly lofted texture that allows air to flow and moisture to evaporate quickly. In fact, Artilect claims it dries up to five times faster than conventional Merino, and I believe it. As a sweaty, menopausal runner, I usually struggle with damp clingy fabrics but this tee stayed dry and comfortable far longer than anything else I own. Even after big efforts, it dried astonishingly quickly during recovery breaks, which makes it brilliant for back-to-back training days or multi-day races.
Despite its featherlight feel, the Sprint Tee doesn’t feel delicate. The nylon core gives it durability that inspires confidence for long-term use, frequent washing, and heavy mileage. During testing in the run-up to the Spine Race, I wore it under a fully loaded pack on consecutive days and experienced zero chafing, a rare and valuable find. Unfortunately, I had to abandon the race due to a family emergency, but the Sprint Tee had already earned its place as a go-to item in my kit and will continue to be a staple across all seasons.
The flatlock seams are another understated but important detail: no rubbing, no irritation, even after hours of movement. I also appreciated the reflective tape in the side seams; a subtle feature that adds peace of mind during early morning or evening training runs.
On the style front, the Sprint Tee strikes a perfect balance. It’s minimal, with discreet branding, so you don’t feel like you’re walking around advertising your kit choices. For me, that matters, I prefer clothing that feels quietly functional and elegant rather than shouting “I’m a runner!” The rose pink is a safe and versatile colour, and while I’d love to see a wider range of shades in future, the current options are easy to wear both on the trail and for everyday casual use.
Environmentally, it’s reassuring to know that Artilect are conscious about their production. The Sprint Tee is machine washable, low-maintenance, and built to last, reducing the cycle of fast, disposable kit that plagues the outdoor industry.

Pros
- True-to-size fit for women (a rare find in performance gear)
- Incredibly lightweight yet durable thanks to the Merino-nylon blend
- Breathes and dries significantly faster than standard Merino
- Excellent comfort with zero chafing, even under a heavy pack
- Reflective seam details for low-light safety
- Minimalist styling with subtle branding—technical without being flashy
- Environmentally conscious and machine washable
Cons
- Premium price at full RRP
- Limited colour choices at present
- Ultra-light fabric may not feel as “substantial” to those who prefer heavier tees
Conclusion
The Artilect Sprint Tee is a standout piece of performance wear that genuinely lives up to its promise. It combines lightweight comfort, rapid moisture management, durability, and smart design details in one impressively versatile package. Whether you’re training hard for a race, heading out on a long adventure, or just want a technical tee that feels great in everyday active life, the Sprint Tee punches well above its weight.
