Craft Men’s spring summer running kit review

Last updated: 16-Aug-18

By Seth Grotzke

There are three types of people when it comes to running attire: there are those who dress like they’re out to win races; there are those who dress to look trendy; and then there are those of us who look like walking charity shops.

My wife would like to thank Craft for doing their part in pushing me out of the third category.

Since the package arrived, I have using these three items in as many situations as possible. The Craft kit can be summarized as simple design and quality materials.

The Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket is my go-to layer now for pre-run and around town.

The Eaze tights will be great in fall and mild winter.

The Cool Seamless Short Sleeve Tee is all that it says, cool, seamless, short sleeve, and an all around quality running shirt.

Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket

Features

  • Soft jersey hood jacket with full zipper
  • Soft & comfortable
  • Zip pocket at chest
  • Thumb grip on sleeves
  • Elastic binding at hood, sleeve end & bottom
  • Reflective details on back, hood, and sleeves
  • RRP £45.00

Pros: What’s good about the Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket

Sufficiently long sleeves. Oh the bliss of covered wrists in the chill air.

Comfortable. The fit is an athletic fit and keeps you from feeling like you are swimming in a sea of synthetic fabric. It is a good texture, sufficient stretch, and good cut.

Long. When you lean over your back is still covered.

The pocket can fit an iPhone 6 plus, though tightly. If you are using this for running, I wouldn’t bet on keeping your phone in there.

Simple. There are not a lot of pockets, cords, zippers, fabrics, buttons, or clasps. It is a simple jacket, and I love that.

Cons: What’s not so good about the Eaze Jersey Hood Jacket

Thumb holes are a bit too large. I like having that option, but they can be too much of a good thing.

Conclusion

Great for everyday wear, to the gym, after workouts, around the house. I personally wouldn’t train in this type of jacket, but for sure would use it regularly pre and post training. Comfortable and stylish (the “stylish” bit comes from my wife. I don’t even trust my own style sense).

EaZe Tights M

I am not a tights wearing guy. Growing up in northern Minnesota, somehow it was completely acceptable to walk around the house in long underwear, and wear them out running, but mentioning “running tights” brought loud scoffing and ridicule. Nevertheless I pushed through the stigma and tested these Eaze Tights.

Features

  • Comfortable fabric and fit for a variety of workouts
  • Soft waistband
  • Mesh at back of knee
  • Reflective print
  • Key pocket
  • RRP £34.00

Pros: What’s good about the Eaze Tights

They are comfortable.

They are an excellent running option for frosty mornings.

They are great in varied workouts such as core exercises, stretching, and cross training.

The waist band is tight enough to keep them up, but not too tight to cut off circulation.

Cons: What’s not so good about the Ease Tights

A small quibble, but why is the drawstring on the inside? I suppose it is a nearly universal design, but having a knot rubbing on my stomach can get annoying.

I found them to be too warm for spring/summer running, however perfect for late fall and mild winter.

Conclusion

I was surprised at the comfort and look forward to using these for longer runs later this year.

Cool Seamless Short Sleeve Tee

Features

  • Seamless
  • Breathable fabric
  • Bodymapped mesh panels
  • 100% Polyester
  • RRP £40.00

Pros: What’s good about the Cool Seamless Short Sleeve Tee

This shirt was simple, comfortable, cool, and all around a quality running shirt. I didn’t have any problems with it, and keep going back to it when I am getting ready for my run.

Cons: What’s not so good about the Cool Seamless Short Sleeve Tee

Because the shirt is so breathable, it is more susceptible to snags. I wore this on a 60 km mountain race and it was great, but I was disappointed that when I got back that my hydration vest had frayed a section of the shirt.

The price is a bit high.

Conclusion

Cool. Comfortable. Simple.
