Show me the runner who doesn’t have tight hips and hamstrings…Yoga can help with strengthening, stretching and recovery. It’s great training for ultra runners.
Alex Stein has been practising yoga since she was seven years old and is also a runner. Her speciality is therapeutic yoga and she is an RTY 200 certified yoga teacher.
Here she shares a short sequence that builds heat to release tension built up in the hips and hamstrings. This will only take you around seven minutes to go through once, although you can stay in the positions longer for more heat and it will leave you both stronger and more supple. It brings length into the hamstrings and more space into the hips.
