In to its third year. The Swindon Ultra Trail is a great test for beginners and experienced ultra runners alike.

The route takes in some amazing views around the town. From a section of the Ridgeway, Barbury Castle and Bincknoll Castle.

The first third of the event is all hills and walking gates, followed by a few sections of urban areas, a small canal section and then back to some local, flat trails.

We offer three, well stocked aid stations, free parking at the start/finish area, eco friendly medals and very generous cut offs.

And new for this year, there is a 19km “mini ultra” for runners who want the hilly test, without the 50km distance. This starts at the same place and finishes at Barbury Castle.

It may be a little biased, but I think this race should be having a lot more entrants each year.

NEW!! A Half Marathon

After a few years without a half marathon. I wanted to bring one back to the town.

The event starts and finishes at Lydiard Country Park and is a counter clockwise loop.

The first few miles are along cycle paths leading you to joining up with the Swindon Ultra 50k route. Which then takes in some local parks and trails around the west of the town.

Very beginner friendly with hardly any vert. Find out more
